Arts briefs: Langley talent showcased at a couple of events

Walnut Grove gospel artist Jeannette Petkau performs in concert Jan. 24, bringing together an array of talent.

Special guests include cellist Judy Lou, flautist Plonia Paetkau and an interpretive dance group.

Petkau hopes the concert will bring together the community and churches.

“I believe we need to come together and be unshakable in our faith and force in this world,” she said. “My prayer would be that this will draw us closer together and to God.”

Petkau plans to release a video of her new album, Unshakable, which will be released in early 2015.

The concert aims to help extend her ministry and mission into Mexico.

March of this year will be spent in the southern country doing missions work and working on other concert and tour opportunities.
