Art exhibit and sale: From now until Thursday, July 6 the works of two local artists – Stephanie Quainton Steel (watercolours) and Philip Cottell (wood turnings) – will be on display and for purchase at the Brentwood Bay Village Empourium, 7103 West Saanich Rd., Brentwood Bay. Garden City Cat Club Show: The Mad Catter’s Tea Party is back for another year on Saturday, June 17 and Sunday, June 18 at the Mary Winspear Centre. Tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for children ages six to 12 and free for children five and under. There is also a family ticket price for $12. Celtic Vespers:Celebrating Father’s Day on Sunday, June 18 is Scotland Santiago. The trio is made up of fiddler Judith Gaston, lead singer Diego Barrientos and Sean Quicke on mandolin, bass and vocals. The services begin at 7 p.m. at St. John’s United Church, 10990 West Saanich Rd., and like always admission is free, but with an offering to cover the cost of the musicians and the program. Brahms Sonatas: Grammy-nominated violinist Elmira Darvarova and Global Music award-winning concert pianist Zhen Chen are performing together on Friday, June 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mary Winspear Centre.
