SMUS students’ art on show
The art of senior students from St. Michaels University School will be on display at the Gallery at the Mac starting next week.
The collection includes work in all mediums, including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography and sculpture.
The exhibit runs to April 4 at the MacPherson Playhouse.
Wine book in wine store a perfect pairing
Liquor shops aren’t usually book launch venues.
But this week Cascadia Liquor, 2631 Quadra St., will host the launch of Island Wineries of British Columbia, published by Victoria-based TouchWood Editions.
Writers will be on hand and there will be wines to sample at the event, which runs 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday (March 5).
Wey headlines dinner and jazz

Deadline near for dance scholarship
Before she died in 2008, pediatrician Chrystal Kleiman asked Dance Victoria producer Stephen White to develop a unique dance scholarship, which Kleiman funded.
The $11,500 scholarship is for emerging and established dancers and choreographers who would like to study outside of Canada.
