Langley artist Susan Falk is hosting a plein art workshop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 27 at Full Bloom lavender farm, 2926 248 St. Cost is $45.  Participants are asked to bring their own lunch, painting supplies and easels. Email susanjfalk@shaw.ca.

Young at Art

Artists aged 16 or younger are invited to participate in a group show at their local Opus store.

During the month of July, exhibitors age 16 or younger can pick up a 10 x10 Opus art board for a minimum donation of $1, and use it to create their piece.

All proceeds go toward purchasing art supplies for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Subject, style and medium is up to the artist.

They are encouraged to explore their creativity and have fun. Completed works must be submitted to the local Opus by Wednesday July 31.

Outdoor Movie Night

Phone home and tell the whole family. The City of Langley is hosting an outdoor movie night in Douglas Park on Friday, July 26.

This summer’s family-friendly feature will be the 1982 classic, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial.

The movie starts at dusk in the park, located at 20550 Douglas Cres. Admission to the movie is free, but there will be a paid concession.
