The Artym Gallery will be presenting the Constance Bachmann & Danny McBride Exhibition on March 26, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The exhibition will then continue until April 3.
Works from the two artists will be featured during this time, with Bachmann and McBride present at the gallery on March 26 from noon to 3 p.m.
Bachmann is an Okanagan Valley-born artist who grew up in a large German, Italian family. She enrolled in art classes at Okanagan College through encouragement by a family member, then went to Vancouver to take a fine arts program at Langara College.
Bachmann eventually found her way back to the valley, where she paints full-time in her studio.
Her work celebrates still life, floral and animal depictions through bold colours in her paintings.
McBride has spent his entire life working in the arts, beginning with a music career that spanned more than three decades.
McBride has performed for audiences in the hundreds and thousands, and has worked with several musical stars such as Natalie Cole, U2, Joe Cocker and Supertramp.
He also earned a job as Chris de Burgh’s lead guitarist for 14 years and has completed two records as a CBS recording artist.
However, in the late 1990s McBride decided to pursue the challenge of visual arts, and has made the canvas his chosen medium ever since.
His work, most noted for his portraiture of women in hats, is immediately recognizable and has appeared in various locales around the world.
“I have been told that my paintings are dream-like. I appreciate that, because I use no models or props; the works come totally from within,” said McBride in an official press release.
“I like to think that my paintings give people a sense of well-being and something to spark the imagination.”
