Kelowna Actors Studio is accepting submissions for its 2013/2014 season. Productions (and play dates) Include:

Elf – The Musical – Dec 4 to 22, 2013 The 39 Steps – Feb 5 to 22, 2014 Cat in the Hat – Feb 27 to Mar 2, 2014 Company – March 26 to April 12, 2014 Beauty & The Beast – May 21st to June 8th, 2014 Fiddler on the Roof – July 16th to Aug 3rd, 2014 Auditions are by appointment only:
Wednesday June 12, 6pm to 10:30 and Thursday June 13 6-10:30 p.m.

Deadline to submit:
There is no specific deadline to submit but auditions are limite. Submit early to ensure a space.
After submitting you will be contacted to schedule your specific audition time.
Audition Requirements:
All auditioners should prepare a short song (about 16 bars) from a Broadway musical that showcases your voice. Please, no songs from the shows being presented. An accompanist will be provided, please bring a clean, clear copy of your music in a binder. No acapella auditions.
All auditioners should prepare a one-minute monologue. Please know your material well enough to do some easy improvisation work using the text of your piece. You may not get to perform the entire piece. Please do research on the shows that you are auditioning for. Scenes may be found on the internet as well as music through iTunes or other sources. All people called back for Elf, Beauty & Fiddler may be required to participate in a group movement/dance audition. Please bring comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear and tap shoes for Elf if you have them. Please plan to take some time to stretch.
After your audition you will be asked to remain for about one hour to hear call backs. CASTING INFORMATION: KAS season includes many interesting roles – both principal and ensemble – for both men and women. There is opportunity for casting individuals from a wide range of ages and ethnicities. The majority of cast members will be expected to sing and move well but there are roles available for actors that are strictly acting roles and do not require singing or movement.
Please ensure that once you commit to a callback that if you receive the role or ensemble you will accept it. Therefore if you have five callbacks and attend all five, you would take all five shows if cast.
