Rivercity Players is looking for five women and two men to perform in their upcoming production of Blithe Spirit.

This popular comedy was written by Noel Coward and first produced in 1941. The action centres around Charles Condomine, a successful novelist, who is doing some research and invites an eccentric medium, Madame Arcati, to lead a séance.

Unfortunately, the temperamental spirit of Charles’ first wife, Elvira, is accidentally summoned.

Only Charles can hear or see her, as she takes up residence in his home and does what she can to disrupt Charles’s current marriage.

The play will be directed by Alistair Taylor, who is excited about bringing this classic piece of theatre to the local stage.

“This is a fun play and I’m looking forward to gathering a creative cast and crew who will bring this script to life,” Taylor says.

Auditions will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 4 and 5, at 7 p.m. at Rivercity Stage, 1080 Hemlock Street. Call backs will be on Thursday, Dec. 6.

Rehearsals will start in January, and the play will run between March 6 and 17. Taylor is looking for actors aged 20 and over, no experience necessary.
