A mixed program from Ballet Kelowna will kick off the new year. Winter is an up-tempo response to the season’s icy chill from Ballet Kelowna’s artistic director and CEO Simone Orlando. The one night show experience premieres at the Kelowna Community Theatre on Feb. 1.
“With Winter, we continue 2018/19’s ethereal exploration of the seasons in all their powerful glory. These works mirror the nuances of nature’s cyclical rhythms by showcasing their qualities in inspired dance performance,” said Orlando. “We are overjoyed to present the remounting of two of Ballet Kelowna’s most successful works.”

One of the two works, 1723-Vivaldi, comes from revered Canadian choreographer Wen Wei Wang, and was commissioned for Ballet Kelowna’s 15th anniversary special in 2017 and will make a highly anticipated return.
Orlando’s Studies of Cash is the second returning performance which is inspired by the musical stylings of legend Johnny Cash and his 1968 concert at Folsom Prison.
The two additions to the Winter program will make for a great start to 2019 for Ballet Kelowna. Tickets and more information can be found at www.balletkelowna.ca
