MBM will bring back their ferocious blend of rock, reggae, hip-hop, folk and funk.

Propelling MBM’s unique sound is their array of vocal talent, two singers and a rapper, each bringing a distinct element to their repertoire.

This diversity has given them the opportunity to be billed with a wide variety of bands including Nazareth, Bedouin Soundclash, Del the Funky Homosapien and Katchafire.

Since their last visit to Salmon Arm in May 2010, the band has played a number of B.C. festivals and toured the western U.S. from Seattle to San Diego.

Following their January tour of B.C., the band will be hopping in the studio to record an EP with up-and-coming Vancouver producer, Sean Carrie.

Although their live show pulsates a party vibe, MBM has been working hard this past year on an environmental initiative called The Jellyfish Project.

Developed in partnership with the Vancouver Aquarium, the objective of the project is to provide B.C. high school students with a unique and relevant in-school presentation that raises awareness about environmental issues associated with ocean health. MBM adopted the jellyfish as their logo because it symbolizes the declining health of our oceans. Keyboardist and rapper, Rod Campbell, says, “Massive jellyfish blooms are becoming common in oceans all over the world. These blooms are believed to be the result of over-fishing of competing species, rising ocean temperatures due to global warming, and an increasing presence of pollutants that jellyfish thrive on. One day, they may be the only creatures left in the sea.”

While the band won’t be playing any Salmon Arm schools, they hope to bring the program back in the spring.
