England’s ‘Northern Bard’, Richard Grainger, appears at Char’s Landing on Thursday, June 14 at 7 p.m.
Grainger, who hails from England’s northeast, is a recording artist with 11 albums to his credit and is considered to be one of the UK’s top folk singers and songwriters.
He has been described as “a folk singer in the truest sense”. Grainger’s songs describe many aspects of the life and experiences of working folk in the Yorkshire region where he now lives, and in Teesside, where he was born and raised.
From songs of the old industries—mining, fishing and whaling—to environmental and other issues of the day, he delivers them in an entertaining way.
