Bellydance on show at bazaar

St. Paul’s Church will be transformed into a Middle Eastern bazaar as part of a fundraiser for Haven Society.

Bellydancers from across the Island present a full day of performances and workshops in a cross-cultural event.

Jewelry, clothing, costumes and accessories from the Middle East, Africa and Asia will be available for sale, along with designed-in-B.C. items, like hand-made drums.

Tarot and palm readers will be on hand, and snacks will be provided by Aladdin’s Cafe.

Local dancers will be sharing their skills in Middle Eastern and Romani dance forms.

Visitors of all ages can learn dance from the performers or simply watch the musical and colourful show.

The second-annual Bellydance Bazaar is set for June 18, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Admission is $5 at the door.
