An Afternoon with Bernie and Red takes place Sunday, Sept. 30 in Abbotsford to raise money for the Stephen Lewis Foundation’s Grandmothers to Grandmothers campaign.
The fundraiser, hosted by the Abbotsford Gogos, runs from 2 to 4 p.m. at Matsqui Centennial Auditorium, 32315 South Fraser Way.
The concert features music and comedy from the husband-and-wife team of Bernie and Red, who have entertained crowds all over North America and on cruise ships.
The campaign supports grandmothers who are raising grandchildren orphaned by the AIDS pandemic in 15 African countries.

The Abbotsford Gogos will also have a wide variety of quality handmade items available for sale at the concert, including the group’s signature “gogo” (which is the Zulu word for “grandmother”) totes, shoulder bags and zippy pouches.
The group is part of a local network of Grandmothers Campaign groups called Greater Van Gogos.
The Abbotsford Gogos meet one Saturday a month to plan events and have fun. You don’t have to be a grandmother to join. For more information, email abbygogos@gmail.com.
Tickets for the concert are $15 and are available on eventbrite.ca or by contacting Deb Marshall at 604-855-0472 or Andrea Meyer at 604-856-4627.
