Exhilarating films featuring mountains around the world and the people who find adventure on them will return to Mission this year on Dec. 2 and 3.
The Best of the Banff Mountain Film Festival will make its annual stop at the Clarke Theatre at 7 p.m. on each night. Tickets are $16 per night or $28 for two nights.
Host organizations in each location choose a program for local audiences from a selection of films on exploration and adventure, culture and environment, and mountain sports. The Mission event is hosted by the University of the Fraser Valley and organizers are planning a different film selection for each night.
Mission is just one stop on the film festival tour, which visits about 40 countries each year, travelling as far as Scotland, South Africa, Lebanon, Antarctica and more.
For complete details of the festival and films which may be shown, visit the tour’s website at banffmountainfestivals.ca.
Tickets are available at Wenting Cycle in Mission, Valhala Pure, Western Canoe & Kayak & Lifecycles in Abbotsford, Mt. Waddington outdoor store in Chilliwack and the UFV campus in Hope.
