The MAC invites Parksville Qualicum Beach to celebrate and enjoy this festive time of the year with a Christmas concert.

Beth Marie Anderson, a local artist, is performing at the McMillan Arts Centre (133 McMillan St., Parksville) on Friday, Dec. 16.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the performance starting at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $15 or $12 for Oceanside Community Arts Council members. Tickets are available for pre-sale at the MAC, online at www.mcmillanartscentre.com or Cranky Dog Music in Parksville. Any remaining tickets will be available at the door.

The acoustic Christmas show will have storytelling elements throughout the evening.

Anderson said she loves coming back to her home town to perform since the audience is the most interactive and supportive.

Previously, Anderson has released two Christmas singles; The First Noel in 2015 and Merry Christmas to Me in 2012.

Recently, Anderson was nominated for three B.C. Country Music Association (BCCMA) awards in the second ballot including Female Vocalist of the Year and Roots Canadiana of the Year.

She also performed during the Canadian Country Music Awards week in London, Ontario in September. Anderson also performed a showcase during the BCCMA weekend in Vancouver this past October.

From Vancouver Island, singers-songwriter  Anderson has accomplished much in her youth.

She has had several of her songs cut by artists all over North America, including Grand Ole Opry performer Sherry Lynn, and has had ‘song holds’ with major label artists including LeAnn Rimes, Sarah Evans and Pam Tillis.

Anderson has recorded three albums in Nashville and was nominated for multiple awards including Song of The Year at the 2012 Vancouver Island Music Awards, Female Vocalist Of The Year at the 2013 Barebones Music Awards and Album of The Year with the 2015 British Columbia Country Music Awards.

Recently, Anderson has been busy teaching students in Victoria for voice, piano, songwriting and ukulele, as well as writing with artists across Canada for their upcoming albums and projects.

She currently has 15 songs being recorded by independent artists across Canada for 2016 and 2017 so far.
