Big Barriere Block Party coming in June

Put your shopping shoes on as there will be a flea market on-site

The party of the year is set to happen Saturday, June 25, at the Barriere Bandshell, as North Thompson Volunteer and Information Centre presents the Big Barriere Block Party. This will be a fun family event with fun and games starting at 4 p.m.

Put your shopping shoes on as there will be a flea market on-site, as well as farmers market booths, non-profit information displays, home-based business booths, food trucks and concessions. Some fun local entertainment will be on the stage starting at 5 p.m., followed up by our headliner, the Chris Buck Band.

The Chris Buck Band has been tearing up stages all across western Canada this year. His energetic brand of new country music has people dancing and singing everywhere he goes. His songs Caribbean Dream, Leave the Lights On and Giddy-up are receiving air-time on all major country music stations. Over the past year he has had the opportunity to open for such superstars as Sam Hunt, Thomas Rhett, Colt Ford and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

Admission for this event will be by donation, with all proceeds going to North Thompson Volunteer and Information Center. If you would like to place an information booth, flea market table or small business booth, or if you would like to help out at the event by volunteering or sponsoring, please contact Charlie Kibble at charliekibb@hotmail.com or NTVIC office manager Ashley Wohlgemuth at ntvic@telus.net.
