It’s carnival time and a New Orleans funk tribute band celebrates its third anniversary with a Mardi Gras party in Duncan on Feb. 17.

The Big Easy Funk Ensemble came together for a 2014 Vancouver Mardi Gras party, and by the end of the show both musicians and audience knew that this band had to continue.

Three years and dozens of shows later, BEFE has rocked clubs, parties and the summer festival circuit, developing a large repertoire of NOLA tunes, everything from Louis Armstrong to the Dirty Dozen Brass Band to Allen Toussaint to Dumpstaphunk.

You’ll hear the remarkable Chris Berry on lead vocals, rock-solid rhythm and horn sections, and killer horns. BEFE is comprised of Vancouver’s best funk, rock and jazz-trained session-musicians including current and former members of Redeye Empire, Freeflow, Five Alarm Funk, and Rude City Riot.

BEFE will be at the Duncan Showroom on Friday, Feb 17.

Doors open at 8 p.m. Tickets are at https://showroomproductions.ca/buy-tickets. Tickets are $20 in advance, or $22 at the door.
