After a sold out show last month, Jared Borland continues to bring what he calls “high caliber comedy” to Parksville.
“I have some great comedians that I’m bringing up for the show,” Borland told The NEWS from Vancouver.
Eddie Della Siepe, Kyle Jones and Borland will take to the stage Thursday night for an intimate comedy show at Smoke ‘n Water in Nanoose Bay.
Borland, who was raised in Nanaimo but now lives in Vancouver promoting and partaking in the bustling comedy scene, called the comedians “some of the best in the business.”
Della Siepe is best known for being one of the longest running comedians on Much Music’s popular Video On Trial show.
“Because of that experience his humour is television-friendly,” explained Borland. “To be very funny and happen to be clean is rare in this business, you get a lot of respect in this industry doing that and he’s mastered it.”
Aside from spending more than five years as a Much Music personality, Della Siepe performed at the Halifax and Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in 2010, 2012 and 2013. While he’s from Toronto originally, Della Siepe now resides in Los Angeles where he’s quickly climbing the comedy ladder to success.
On the other hand, Borland said comedian Kyle Jones “isn’t so clean.”
Jone’s has been featured on Sirius XM Radio, North West Comedy Festival and took second place in Canada’s Next Top Comic. According to Borland, he’s perfected “interactive comedy” with quick wit and the ability to think on his feet.
As for Borland, he’s been featured on The JFL42 Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Toronto and headlined for Yuk Yuk’s across the country. He’s been featured on Sirius XM Radio, The North West Comedy Festival and toured with Jon Lovitz, Broken Lizard’s Kevin Heffernan and Steve Lemme.
Borland said the show is sure to be full of laughter.
“Anyone who likes to enjoy life should come out, leave your stress at home, cut loose and laugh it up,” he said. “It’s going to be a great show with great chemistry.”
