Book donations needed

What's on the Alberni arts scene this week.

Book donations for the Community Arts Council’s giant book sale are down this year, so we’re putting out an urgent call asking for people to donate their gently used books for our sale.

This is the arts council’s largest fundraiser of the year. The sale is approaching quickly: this year it will take place May 13–14.

If you have any books, in great condition, that you are able to donate, pleased drop them off at the Rollin Art Centre. Start your spring cleaning early and de-clutter your house by donating your books, DVDs, CDS and puzzles to us.

Meet the artist

Local photographer Roland Semjanovs, whose work is featured in our current art exhibit at the Rollin Art Centre, will be at the centre this Saturday, April 9 for a meet and greet.

Come to the gallery between 1–3 p.m. to meet Semjanovs and view his exhibit, entitled ‘Wandering’.

Colourful, vibrant and detailed are what come to mind when you see this exhibit.

Refreshments will be served.

Melissa Martin is the Arts Administrator for the Community Arts Council, at the Rollin Art Centre.
