• Friday, Trail Ferraro Foods, 10 a.m.to 6 p.m. Stuff the Bus with Trail Transit. Help fill a bus with non-perishable food items in support of the Salvation Army Food Bank. Runs again Saturday, 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. BBQ by donation both days, 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
• Saturday, Fruitvale Memorial Centre, 9-11 a.m. for Breakfast with Santa. Bring the kids for pictures with Santa and a pancake, egg and sausage breakfast cooked by the Fruitvale Firemen and served by the Beaver Valley Nitehawks.
• Saturday, Trail United Church 10 a.m. to noon. Christmas Coffee Party, bake table, toonie table. Admission by donation.
• Saturday, Rossland Miners Hall, 8 p.m. Rotary Club of Rossland presents the Maritime Kitchen Party. Music and dancing at 9 p.m. Tickets at Out of the Cellar.
• Saturday, Columbia View Lodge 1:30-2:45 p.m. Community Christmas Tea. Admission by donation. Everyone is welcome.
• Sunday, Trail United Church, 5 p.m. Fundraising Dinner and silent auction for the church’s food bank and Downtown Dinner Group. Tickets $15 at church office. Everyone welcome.
• Wednesday (Dec. 6), Bridge View Cafe in the FortisBC building, 5 p.m. Trail Vigil to acknowledge Canada’s National Day of Remembrance and Action to End Violence Against Women. Starting at 4:30pm coffee, tea and light snacks followed by a gathering to remember and honour the many women in our country and the world who have been affected by violence and abuse. To help mark the occasion, the City of Trail will turn the lights to red on the Victoria St Bridge.

• Sunday, Royal Theatre, 4:30 p.m. Sunday Cinema showing Stronger. Real life story of Jeff Bauman, a man who became a symbol of hope after surviving the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing.

Maple Leaf Band, 7:15 p.m. followed by choirs including: Trail Harmony Choir, Rossland Glee Club, Twin Rivers Community Choir, Kootenay Women’s Ensemble, Salvation Army Choir, and St. Michael’s. An evening of beautiful music in preparation for the holidays and a fundraiser for Salvation Army Christmas hampers.
