Canadian folk artists perform at Bez Arts Hub this Friday

Tickets still available for Jenny Banai and Bre McDaniel's Langley show

Canadian folk musicians Jenny Banai and Bre McDaniel will be performing in Langley this Friday (June 23) at the new Bez Arts Hub.

Banai’s voice has been compared to folk singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell, with a mix of the soulful stresses of folk-pop artist Feist.

Her debut album, Flowering Head, features unconventional melodies with haunting violins, ukulele and guitar strums.

McDaniel has had her voice described as “magic on toast.” She began writing music while completing a visual arts degree, and these artistic qualities are often reflected in her songs. She is currently on tour promoting her EP, Light Pollution.

The pair have also created a documentary, Where We Come Home, on their first Canadian tour. The video depicts what it is like to travel with artists of different mediums, and highlights their heritage and connection to each other and to Canada.

The Langley show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at the door ($25) or online ($20) here.
