Carl Erickson and the Home Town Band will play at the Sasquatch on Saturday.
“Here I am, after being in Creston for nearly four years, and once again the guys and I get to play for our friends here at the Sasquatch,” Erickson said.
While Erickson plays guitar and tenor saxophone and sings, he will be joined in the April 16 concert by Donnie Clark on trumpet, Jason Deatherage on drums, and Micah Snow and Nelson’s James Jost on guitar and bass.
Erickson has been performing for about 50 years, having started in what he calls the “turbulent ’60s” in the Nocturnals, a group that included a close friend, Ron Henschel.
“We had suits, trucks and gear all over the place and did dance steps as we played and sweated,” said Erickson. “I spent years in recording studios scratching out a sort of existence. I was fortunate enough to play with all kinds of folks along the way, like Glen Campbell and Ike and Tina Turner. I was a founding member of the Six Cylinder Band in Vancouver and played with the Cement City Cowboys, along with all kinds of other groups like the Muddy Fraser Blues Band.”
Tickets are $15 in advance, available at Buffalo Trails, Black Bear Books and Kingfisher Used Books, or $18 at the door ($8 for teens). Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8.
