David James is a convincing Johnny Cash in the Cash and Cline tribute slated for March 11 at Martin Exeter Hall.

Country Legends, Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash, a Tribute, comes to Martin Exeter Hall on March 11, at 7:30 p.m. as a stop on its 10-city British Columbia tour.

Tribute artists, Sara-Jeanne Hosie as Cline and David James as Cash, along with his Big River Band will also be making stops in Campbell River, Nanaimo, Williams Lake, Quesnel, Chilliwack, New Westminster, Vernon, Trail and Cranbrook.

James does up to 100 shows a year and says he’s been turning people into Johnny Cash fans all along the way.

“Lots of people say they close their eyes and can’t tell the difference when they hear me. I’m a little more handsome than the original, but very similar and have lots of the same mannerisms.”

He adds Patsy Cline fans are in for a real treat.

“Sara-Jeanne is amazing. She’s head and tails above anyone else I’ve heard do Patsy.”

The duo has also played in larger centres, including Lethbridge, Alberta and at the Vancouver Shark Club.

Tickets for the show are $35 and they are available at Donex (cash only).
