The Sooke Community Association and the Sooke Lions Club are holding a dance to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Sooke Community Hall.
Back in 1937 on April 6, 1,000 people filled the hall to kick up their heels. People came from all over as the population of Sooke was only about 500. The Sooke Community Hall was, at one time, the biggest uninterrupted floor space on Vancouver Island.
On April 28, Phoenix will play for a dance. For the price of $7.50, dancers also get chili and a bun. The price is reflective of the number of years the hall has been the hub of the community.
Advance tickets are available at Shoppers and Peoples Drug Marts.
Come out, dance a little, visit a little and have a whole lot of fun.
