Art Movies are back at Centre 64 by popular demand.
Interested in learning more about ideas, influences and trends in the visual arts? Relax in the comfortable atmosphere of Studio 64 to watch a movie about art and share in a casual guided discussion afterwards. Stay a little longer for coffee, cake and conversation. No host bar.
Centre 64 begins its Friday night Art Movie program on January 18, at 7:30 pm, with the 60-minute film “The Second Moment of Creation” from the PBS/BBC Civilizations Series.
This film explores the earliest examples of cave art found in Spain and France and connects these primitive artistic expressions to the evolution of modern art in the 20th century.
The series continues on Feb. 15 with Le Scandale Impressioniste; March 15, Where the Universe Sings: The Spiritual Journey of Lawren Harris, and April 5, Chuck Close: A Portrait in Progress.
Admission by donation. Light snacks provided. No host bar.
