Character in writing

Sorrento Centre presents “Climbing into Character as if Trees,” a writing course led by Heather Jessup and Ethan Cole from July 6 to 12

Sorrento Centre presents “Climbing into Character as if Trees,” a writing course led by Heather Jessup and Ethan Cole from July 6 to 12.

For the storyteller, character is of paramount importance. It is a unique style or genre; an extraordinary or eccentric person; and a calling toward a life lived with empathy, courage and fortitude. Character is the alignment of actions with virtue.

Participants will come to realize that in developing character on a page, the writer inevitably ends up developing character in her or himself.

Cole is an award-winning playwright, songwriter, musician and educator.  Jessup’s first novel, The Lightning Field, was up for several awards.

This course is open to writers at any level of experience. Visit www.sorrento-centre for more information.
