Cherryville students to sell their art at Show in the Snow

Cherryville sell their glass artwork at the Show in the Snow at the Cherryville Artisans Shop Saturday, Dec. 7 from 1 to 4 p.m.

Cherryville students are about to become “professional” artists when they show, and sell, their glass artwork at the Show in the Snow at the Cherryville Artisans Shop Saturday, Dec. 7 from 1 to 4 p.m.

Artisan Helen Kovacs, of Cherryville’s Red Dog Glass Studio, has been conducting glass art workshops with the students at Cherryville Elementary School for the past 13 years now.

“The students are always very excited to work in glass. Their imaginations are boundless,” said Kovacs.

“This workshop gives children an opportunity to look at a career in arts while exposing them to an opportunity that not many schools can offer.”

This year, Kovacs has incorporated the chance for the students to raise money for a special cause through their school’s parental advisory committee. They will not only show their work at the Show in the Snow, but this year their pieces will be for sale, said Kovacs.

The show will also feature a yuletide bonfire with complimentary coffee and baked goods.

Vendors interested in participating in the show are welcome to contact Kovacs’ studio at (250) 547-2070 or email cherryvilleartisans@gmail.com.
