The Victoria Children’s Choir is bringing good tidings to the residents of Nanaimo.
The choir presents a community Christmas Concert on Sunday (Dec. 6), 2 p.m. at St. Andrew’s United Church. It includes special guests Irene Becker, Pierre Dørge and the Morten Carlsen Trio from Denmark.
“We are excited to perform with these talented Danish musicians,” said Madeleine Humer, the choir’s artistic director in a press release. “It’s a privilege for our choristers to share their beautiful music, and the feelings of warmth and cheer, with people on Vancouver Island.”
The children will perform yuletide songs from Nordic countries and the newly released Sparkling Star in the Darkness, composed by Becker. The song is about experiencing the Advent and winter solstice in Scandinavian countries.
Admission is by donation. For more information please go to http://victoriachildrenschoir.ca
