A documentary examining the rise of fascism throughout history will be screened in Maple Ridge council chambers.
Fascism Inc. is a series of short stories looking at the past, present and future of fascism and its relationship to the economic interests of each era.
The film examines Mussolini’s Italy and Greece under Nazi occupation, Hitler’s Germany and finally it looks at modern European and Greek fascism.
Director Aris Chatzistephanou proposes that fascism is a tool utilized by the economic elite that cannot exist without an economic crisis.
He contends there is a close link between capitalism and fascism.
The screening is a free event put on by Cinema Politica Ridge Meadows and takes place at 7 p.m. on Jan. 19 at Maple Ridge City Hall, 11995 Haney Place.
The documentary is for people of all ages.
There will also be guest speakers to further discussion following the film.
