Cineplex offering free movies Saturday

Cineplex, which owns the Galaxy Cinemas in Vernon, is screening a selection of free movies Saturday morning for its national Community Day.

Cineplex Entertainment, which owns the Galaxy Cinemas in Vernon, invites Canadian families to join in a morning of free movies at their local Cineplex theatre, Saturday, Oct. 18,

As part of Cineplex’s fourth annual National Community Day, families can enjoy a morning of free movies, as well as popcorn, soft drinks and select candy items for $2 each.

Cineplex will also be offering an exclusive Community Day mini Rafiki friend chain bracelet for $2.  All proceeds raised on Community Day benefit Free The Children.

“Community Day is an opportunity for Canadian families to come together and enjoy a morning at the movies in support of a great cause,” said Pat Marshall, Vice President, Communications and Investor Relations, Cineplex Entertainment. “As one of Canada’s largest employers of youth, we invite all Canadians to join us at their local Cineplex theatre, and to help Free The Children empower youth across Canada.”

Theatres will open their doors to guests at 8:30 a.m., with the first movies beginning at 9 a.m. Seating for each movie is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. All locations will return to regular programming onSaturday afternoon.
