The Reach Gallery Museum (32388 Veterans Way) continues its free Culture, Coffee and Cookies presentations on Wednesday mornings in October.
All sessions run from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
On Oct. 7, Dave Loewen will focus on writing a family history and online self-publishing. He will provide details about the program he has used with some basic guidelines and how to prepare the document for uploading.
He will also speak about the simplicity of online publishing, why he chose his particular publisher, and provide handouts to participants.
On Oct. 14, Bill Overy will provide a visual commentary of Travelling the Pacific Coastal Highway.
He will cover the coastal roads between Los Angeles, California, and Blaine, Wash. featuring some of the highlights and interesting places he has encountered.
On Oct. 21, the presenter is Marinus van Prattenburg, who emigrated from the Netherlands to B.C., where he set up a piano restoration shop.
His lifelong passion for writing led him to write novels inspired by the idiosyncrasies of his customers.
Van Prattenburg’s novel Mr. Sebastian tells the story of an Erard grand piano and takes the reader through two World Wars in France and to England during the unhappy post-war period, before coming to North America.
On Oct. 28, Gwen Settle will talk about her time serving as a young woman in the Royal Canadian Navy during the Cold War.
