Laughs will be in abundance at the 15th annual Community Foundation Comedy Festival on Sept. 27 at the Barking Parrot.
“We have some top-notch comedians lined-up for this year’s Comedy Fest. All three are absolutely hilarious,” said Aaron McRann, executive director, Community Foundation of the South Okanagan-Similkameen. “We have gathered some fantastic auction items that have been generously donated by local businesses- there will be something for everyone,” added McRann.
Featured comedians include Greg Morton, Pete Zedlacher and Tim Nutt.
Morton is a four-time veteran of the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival and has opened for Celine Dione, Dionne Warwick and Harry Connick Jr. and Luther Vandross.
Zedlacher is a comedy veteran with a Canadian Comedy Award, four Canadian Comedy Award-nominations and two Gemini nominations to his credit. He’s also appeared on many Canadian TV shows.
Although Nutt has long hair, a beard and an overall rough-looking appearance, he surprises audiences with his sharp wit that includes observations about everyday life. .
The event invites people to enjoy an evening of first-class comedy acts, great food and the chance to bid on live and silent auction items.
McRann said he appreciates the support from Investors Group and the Friends of the Foundation, and added that all proceeds from the event help support the Community Foundation of the South Okanagan-Similkameen.
“We’re very proud to have such great sponsors,” he said. “Without their support we wouldn’t be able to host such high-quality comedians. Every year the show sells out because it is simply the best comedy show in Penticton.”
Tickets are $65 and available at the Penticton Lakeside Resort. Doors open at 5:30pm with the show starting at 8pm.
