The Community Arts Council will be holding its annual general meeting on Thursday, March 3 at 7 p.m., in the AV Museum. Along with discussing our year in review, elections of board members will take place, so if you are interested in joining this wonderful board of directors and be a part of a great organization of keeping Arts alive in the Alberni Valley, please join us.
Something special is being planned for the evening, an illustrated lecture by art historian and appraiser Kerry Mason entitled “Appraising Emily Carr: a case study in art appraisals”.
Mason will explain the complex and interesting world of appraising art. What are the ingredients of an art appraisal? How many different kinds of appraisals are there? Why have art appraised? How is an appraisal created? These and other questions will be answered in the evening lecture.
Bonesky amazes
The next art exhibit at the Rollin Art Centre features much-loved artist Cynthia Bonesky, showcasing her amazing talent in acrylic paintings. Much of Bonesky’s exhibit will feature portraits, depicting her love of travel.
Don’t miss this exhibit which begins March 10 and runs until April 1.
Join us in the gallery for refreshments and an opportunity to meet Cynthia at her artist reception, Saturday, March 12 from 1–3 p.m.
