The second Lighthouse Bluegrass Festival took place last weekend in Qualicum Bay and organizers report the numbers were up from last year.
“The festival was a success, despite a few rainy spots, a few people sat out with umbrellas and quite enjoyed it,” said organizer Bob Thorburn.
Thorburn said the sun did break out throughout the festival and people really enjoyed the top notch music.
Organizers are now gearing up for the Coombs Bluegrass Festival which will stretch over four days this year, from August 2 to 5. Eleven bands will be making their way to the festival, some hailing from the United States and others from around British Columbia. For more information visit www.coombsbluegrass.com.
