Corralling up comedy in Chilliwack with Peter n’ Chris

Hilarious Canadian Comedy Award winning duo Peter Carlone and Chris Wilson are at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre with The Kinda OK Corral.

There will be a few preposterous showdowns, a couple of nonsensical poker games, and even some outrageous bar fights, but that doesn’t mean it’ll be like any Western you’ve ever seen.

Hilarious Canadian Comedy Award winning duo Peter Carlone and Chris Wilson (aka Peter n’ Chris) are back at the Cultural Centre with The Kinda OK Corral, and it’s said to be their best show yet.

When an evil oil tycoon comes to town and tries to steal Texas Chris’ farm, and even his cow, Peter n’ Chris embark on a mission to take him down and they won’t let anything get in their way. Along with its cast of over a dozen ludicrous characters — all played by Peter and Chris — their ridiculous adventure is making a stop in Chilliwack on Feb. 4 and 5 and they’re bringing the Wild West along with them.

Peter n’ Chris have been working together since 2009. The duo has won three Canadian Comedy Awards (best sketch troupe and best comedic play 2013/2014), performed at comedy festivals across North America including Just For Laughs, JFL42, the San Francisco Sketch Comedy Festival, the Chicago Sketch Fest, and even won the Audience Choice Award two years in a row at the Toronto Sketch Festival.

Aside from writing and performing their own sketches, Peter n’ Chris also write for CBC’s The Irrelevant Show and CBC Punchline, and are contributors to CollegeHumor and White Ninja.

Carlone, who is originally from Calgary, also works as a film-maker and video editor, is the artistic director for the Vancouver Sketch Comedy Festival, and has even won two Jessie Awards for his acting.

Wilson is from Victoria and now lives in Toronto where works as a comedian and writer. He’s worked on various TV shows including CityTV’s Meet the Family and SuperChannel’s What Would Sal Do? and performs with sketch troupe “Get Some.”

They both graduated with Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees from the University of Victoria and have teamed up over the past eight years, combining comedic forces — despite being on opposite ends of the country.

The Kinda OK Corral’s clever combination of improv and scripted humour has won the duo the Best of Fest award from the 2014 Vancouver Fringe Festival Award, making Peter n’ Chris’ recent contribution to fringe comedy one of their most successful ones to date.

The Kinda OK Corral is coming to the Chilliwack Cultural Centre’s Rotary Hall Studio Theatre on Feb. 4 and 5 at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets $25 and can be purchased at the Centre Box Office, online at chilliwackculturalcentre.ca, or by calling 604-391-SHOW(7469).
