Special to the Review
This Friday night downtown The Last Drop has two unique bands from Kelowna coming to hit the stage, instead of staying home to waste time on Facebook, Instagram, or watch a movie on Netflix come out to support live music in Revelstoke.
Cosmic Microwave Pickle:
Through exotic tones, intricate beats, an unforgettable presence, and more than enough random gibberish, this band seeks to perfect the art of cooking burritos using musical microwaves.
They define their music as com-post rock; entertaining and energetic with flares of Primus and Ween, this rock trio is a cosmic blend of influences.
The group seeks to better understand this predicament through strange sounds produced from electric guitars, musical songs that will make your eyebrows wiggle.
Cosmic microwave background is the radiation that permeates the entirety of the known universe that’s released from all the stars and galaxies since the big bang.
A pickle is a predicament. Our planet is intrinsically bound to the cosmic microwave pickle because of unfortunate circumstances which include climate change, inequality and the reptilian pickle alien take over of our consciousness.
The only way to save your souls from this hostile environmentally destructive invasion is to assimilate to the cosmic microwave pickle by going to our shows or you will face total annihilation.
Psycherelics:
Psycherelics are a three piece grunge, rock, blues band from Kelowna.
When you listen to them you feel like you are at a hole in a the wall bar show in Seattle circa 1990s.
The band writes original music and love to put on a high energy show. They are a three piece trio from Kelowna. Composed of Talon Wadeon on vocals and guitar, Fraser Burke playing bass, and Jordan Pearce on drums.
Some of their biggest influences in music are Jimmy Hendrix and Black Sabbath and you can really hear that in their songs.
Anyone that comes to their shows is in for a treat, when they play it’s like their souls take over and are in a time machine back to 1969.
Talons face melting guitar solos are something you don’t want to miss if you like rock and roll they can’t wait to get a little crazy with the local Revelstoke crowd!
