There’s more to life than ABC and 123 for Vernon artist Angelika Jaeger, whose latest exhibition, Go-Figure-Life, has opened at Ashpa Naira Gallery.
The paintings and sculptures featured in the show examine the relationship between numbers and life.
“There has always been a certain attraction for letters and numbers in mankind,” said Jaeger. “From the creation of what we know as figures today, they have always held an ambiguity and kept us informed, intrigued or make us work with and for them. Life is figured in a home or nest. We are born into a figurative fabric, which becomes the task of our life to figure it out.”
The exhibition runs from now to July 3. Ashpa Naira Gallery is located on the westside of Okanagan Lake, and is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday to Sunday. Admission is free.
