Cowichan Musical Society holding auditions for mystery show June 21

"Still can't tell you the name of this well-known Disney show"

Warm up your vocal cords Cowichan, there are some important auditions coming up.

Cowichan Musical Society has scheduled auditions for key singing roles for its upcoming mystery show for June 21 at the Mercury Theatre in Duncan.

“Still can’t tell you the name of this well-known Disney show, but you’ll find out when you begin the audition process,” the society said in a press release.

Auditions will be a bit different due to COVID-19. Key singing roles only will be open for audition at this time. The chorus will be assembled in the fall. Auditions will be done one person at a time, at specified intervals for which hopefuls must sign up. Those who wish to audition are asked to arrive at the theatre 15 minutes before their time slot, but no earlier, so there will never be a crowd, and people are asked to maintain social distancing.

“We will have disinfectant available throughout the theatre,” the society said. “Don’t forget to bring your music if you need it — we will not be sharing paper documents if possible and we will be using the rehearsal soundtrack to support you during your audition.”

You will also be required to bring a head shot.

Anyone who still doesn’t feel safe auditioning in person on June 21 can submit a link with a video clip to cowichanmusicalsociety@gmail.com.
