Under the auspices of the Community Arts Council of Creston, a group of artists has proposed a project to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Canada by integrating two significant segments of the Creston Valley, agriculture and the arts.
The committee wants to celebrate being part of Canada and how residents have created a vibrant community together. All are invited to join it to explore the vision, including making connections and planning events and activities throughout the next year. All the arts can be included — music, poetry, performing arts, visual arts, photography, fibre arts and more — and the committee hopes to forge relationships with all sorts of agricultural producers — grain, food, honey, meat growers, flowers, trees and more.
Artists connecting with farmers — imagine the possibilities!
Farmers and artists are invited to the next planning meeting at 7:30 p.m. July 12 at the Creston Museum’s Carr Building. To learn more, contact Brenda Brucker at 250-428-3358 or Audrey Orosz at 250-866 -5145.
