The Good Lovelies will perform in Creston on Monday at the Prince Charles Theatre.

In a unique double bill on March 12, the Creston Concert Society presents Juno award winners (2010 roots traditional album of the year) the Good Lovelies — Caroline Brooks, Kerri Ough and Sue Passmore — along with Jeff and Zack, The Human Statues.

Funny and upbeat, with just a pinch of sass, the Good Lovelies’ textbook three-part harmonies, constant instrument swapping and witty onstage banter have enlivened the folk music landscape since they joined forces in 2006. They have charmed audiences coast to coast with appearances at festivals, such as the Montreal Jazz Festival and Mariposa, as well as touring with Stuart McLean and the Vinyl Café. Their 2011 touring schedule took them further afield to Australia, the U.K. and the U.S.

With roots in professional theatre and street performance, the Human Statues have honed their ability to connect with and the audience.  Frequently compared to the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Flight of the Conchords and even the Jackson 5, a Human Statues concert is filled with humour, heartfelt story-telling, synchronized choreography and music that you will still be humming on your way home.

This concert to lift your spirits takes place in the Prince Charles Theatre on March 12 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $22 in advance for adults and $10 for students ($25 and $12 at the door), available at Black Bear Books.
