Creston’s own Beginner Concert Band is now in its third year and everyone involved is having a great time. They’ not only learning our own instruments, but we’re developing our listening and musical skills by playing with friends in a band.
The band welcomes all beginner (and not so beginner) players of traditional band instruments. This includes woodwinds (flutes, clarinets and saxophones), brass (trumpets, trombones and tubas) and bowed strings (violins and cellos). Members don’t need to be able to read music — we’ll help you learn to do this. But you do need to own or have access to an instrument.
The Beginner Concert Band meets for rehearsals every 4-5 p.m. Wednesdays at Christ Church Anglican (422 Seventh Ave. N.). For more information call Bob at 250-866-5772 or visit www.mellowood.ca/music/bband.
