The striking period drama tells he true story of a shy prince’s unlikely journey to become the king of England as the nation teeters on the brink of war.

As second to the throne, living in the shadow of his older brother Edward the prince universally known as Bertie seemed destined to lead a quiet life.

But when his brother shockingly announces his resignation from the throne in a move that will allow him to marry an American divorcée, Bertie reluctantly assumes the role and is thrust into the spotlight.
