Auditions take place July 7 and 8 for the latest show from Groove Force Productions.
Auditions for Coming Home are open to dancers and principals from the ages of eight to adult. They take place at Xtreme Talent in Abbotsford.
Coming Home follows three stories about characters who are having a difficult time making personal connections.
These stories are told through dance and expression, with very little dialogue.
In order to carry the stories, the principals and ensembles must have a strong dance background and be skilled theatrically.
As a result, the audience will be able to follow the storylines without dialogue thanks to the talents of the dancers and ensembles.
“I am excited to highlight local talent in Coming Home, and hope to fill as many roles as possible with dancers from the Fraser Valley,” said Mary Boonstra, a dancer and choreographer who is the director of Groove Force Productions.
Groove Force presented its first major production, Find My Way, last year. The show was written and produced by Boonstra, who has also written Coming Home.
Find My Way raised $1,700 for three charities – the Starfish Pack Program, the Salvation Army and the Abbotsford Community Foundation.
Coming Home will also raise money for charity.
The production will be staged at 2, 5 and 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 1 and 7, and at 5 and 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 6 at the Abbotsford Community Arts Addition (2329 Crescent Way).
