Tom Cruise is back in action in Jack Reacher: Never Go Back.

Jack Reacher has been featured in 20 novels and is the brainchild of author Jim Grant, better known by his pen name Lee Child. Reacher, a former Major in the United States Army Military Police Corps who quit at the age of 36, roams the United States taking odd jobs and investigating suspicious and frequently dangerous situations.  The character was turned into a moderately successful movie starring Tom Cruise in 2012 and was enough of a hit to merit a sequel.

Based on the 18th novel, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back sees Cruise returning as the titular character who finds himself back at the headquarters of his old military unit.  He is there to meet Major Susan Turner (Cobie Smulders) who has been working with him on solving cases across the country. Upon his arrival, he is informed that she is accused of espionage and helps her escape capture while they unravel a conspiracy bigger than they could ever dream of.

For Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, Cruise re-teams with his The Last Samurai director Edward Zwick (Glory, Legends of the Fall) and expect the same intensity that the actor has shown in not only the first movie, but also in the Mission: Impossible series and Edge of Tomorrow.

If you are looking for some comedy with your action, check out Keeping Up with the Joneses. Zach Galifianakis and Isla Fisher star as a suburban couple who become embroiled in an international espionage plot when they discover that their seemingly perfect new neighbours (Jon Hamm and Gal Gadot) are government spies. Of course, Galifianakis (The Hangover Trilogy) is the centre of slapstick comedy-action, but it will be interesting to see Gadot before her solo Wonder Woman film next spring and Hamm post-Mad Men.

You did not need an ouija board to predict that a sequel to the original hit movie version of the Hasbro board game would get a sequel.   is actually set 50 years prior to the first movie in 1967 Los Angeles where mother and her daughters are running a fake séance scam but things turn scary when a truly evil spirit enters their home and possesses one of the daughters.
