Deadline for Vinos Wine Film Festival looming

Only four weeks left to submit video for 2012 Vinos Wine Film Festival held in Osoyoos.

There are only four weeks left for wine-lovers and film makers to submit a video to the third annual 2012 Vinos Wine Film Festival.

Black Hills Estate Winery announced this week that the Thompson-Okanagan Tourism Association has become the official sponsor of the newly created film festival category title, Okanagan Wine Tourism. This addition to the festival offers wine lovers and filmmakers a new opportunity to participate in the film festival and it opens another opportunity for them to win cash and wine prizes.

“This is a tremendous development for the Vinos event,” said Glenn Fawcett, Vinos festival founder and president of Black Hills Estate Winery. “Having TOTA come on board enables us to take this event to the next level.”

The one to two minute videos capturing the filmmakers love of B.C. wine, or showcasing the unique wine tourism industry in the Okanagan, have to be submitted by June 1. Over $16,000 in cash and wine prizes are up for grabs at this years event.

The Vinos are inspired by events like the Sundance Film Festival, Cannes and the wildly successful Big Rock Eddies beer commercial film festival. Producers of the selected video submissions will be awarded two complimentary Vinos tickets and be treated like Hollywood VIP.

All video submissions will be reviewed by a judging panel and the top submissions will be screened at the Vinos event on June 8 at Spirit Ridge Resort in Osoyoos. For more info visit www.BlackHillsWinery.com.
