Dessert Extravaganza
Life Recovery is hosting Dessert Extravaganza on June 9 at 7 p.m., at Northview Community Church, 32040 Downes Rd.
The evening will feature guest speaker Joe Roberts. It will also have a variety of desserts, door prizes and testimonials from LIFE Recovery clients.

House of James
The Mennonite Jazz Committee (MJC) will be in concert this Friday, June 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the House of James coffeehouse, 2743 Emerson St.
Their repertoire includes standards, jazz hymn arrangements as well as some original material. Their style is energetic, swinging, innovative and interactive.
MJC has two recordings to date. Unexpected (2004) features beloved jazz standards and an original composition. Dawn of Grace (2007) is a collection of modern arrangements of Christmas carols.

Llama Extravaganza
The second annual Lower Mainland Llama Extravaganza is taking place this weekend.
It runs on Saturday, June 4 from 9 a.m.-6:30 p.m. and on Sunday, June 5 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
It will feature 32 animals, and exhibitors from as far as Alberta. There will be a silent auction, a fleece auction, a spin-in and a Saturday evening potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m.
The event takes place at Abbotsford Exhibition Park in the Agrifair Arena, 32444 Haida Drive.
Matthew’s House
Matthew’s House, a family facility to be built on Marshall Road, is hosting a dinner and dance auction this weekend.
When completed, Matthew’s house will provide long-term respite care for children and adolescents who live with a significant disability, and will be part of the Campus of Care, operated by Communitas Supportive Care.
The event takes place on Saturday, June 4 at The Rancho on 35111 Delair Rd. at 5:30 p.m.
Tickets are $25 each or a table of eight for $200. Donations can be dropped off at Ann Marie’s Cafe, 33771 George Ferguson Way, or call 604-852-2610.

Sound of Music
Sound of Music is holding its 20th annual festival and concert this Saturday, June 4 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and on Sunday, June 5 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Mount Baker room at Coast Abbotsford Hotel and Suites, 2020 Sumas Way.
The event is free to attend.
ACT
Abbotsford Children’s Theatre is holding auditions for its 2011–2012 season.
Children ages eight and up are invited to audition for: Best Christmas Pageant Ever, to be held in December, 2011, and Snow White, for April 2012.
Auditions are on Tuesday, June 7 at the Matsqui Centennial Auditorium, 32315 South Fraser Way.

Glass Hive Studio
The Glass Hive Studio is having an open house on Friday, June 10 and Saturday, June 11 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Located at 30273 Canary Court, Abbotsford, the studio has glass artwork for sale, along with all types of honey and bee related items.
Meet local glass artist Ellen Miller and enter the draw to win a fused glass bowl. Lonnie Jackson from Dingolay Fused Glass Creations will also have a wide selection of items.
