Some audience members enjoyed a bit of dancing while attending a Fun Raiser event for KSS on the weekend.

Incredible local, and not-so-local talent, was well appreciated at the first Fun Raiser event for KSS, to help spread optimism and awareness about the possible closure of the school.

Following a dinner at Lefty’s Fresh Food in Qualicum Beach, the marimba wonders Kumbana Marimba took to the stage at the Qualicum Beach Community Hall, as well as Tyler Carson with Tom Cronin, who was visiting from England. KSS junior band members played, followed by Coombs’ Hayley Sales, who was set to go to Japan before the latest turn of events there.

The mood at the event was proud and positive while many got to their feet to show their approval. The event was organized by Oceanside Communities for Quality Education. Proceeds from the event will go toward helping create the first all electric shuttle at KSS.
