After suspending operations in October, the famed Dream Café is re-opening February 2017 with some special show nights in between.
After running into financial difficulties, operations were suspended on Oct. 1. Musicians, shareholders, staff and music lovers came together to put on six benefit shows, followed by a series of dinner and show nights which conclude on Dec. 26 and 27 with Gary Comeau and the Voodoo Allstars.
“The Dream team has been hard at work creating a sustainable future for the beloved music venue. A core group of talented and enthusiastic minds have dissected the previous business model to conceive a viable operational plan providing security and longevity for the Dream Cafe Co-op,” a statement from the co-op reads.
Four nights kick off the re-opening with Ben Waters Feb. 1 to 4, followed by Kobo Town on Feb. 8, Eric Bibb from Feb. 15 to 16, The Screen Doors on Feb. 18, Dave Sinclair and Keith Bennett on Feb. 25, Devon Coyote on March 3 and The Silver Screen Scoundrels on March 4.
