Eine Kleine Summer Music is back for its 29th season bringing many talented classical musicians, including one of the premiere cellists in the world, Zuill Bailey.
The performance involves a small and intimate chamber group who will play at various venues on the peninsula.
“It’s the longest chamber festival in Victoria and it’s by far the most popular chamber music any time of the year,” said Eine Kleine Music’s President Grace Kamitakahara.
There are eight concerts in total with five different ones and two that are repeated.
Presented will be premieres of Mozart’s Horn Quintet along with other masterpieces.
A big highlight of the show is Bailey who is one of the top cellists in the world. He will be playing with pianist Lorraine Min.
“This is the first time he’s actually playing in Victoria in a chamber,” said Kamitakahara.
Also playing will be the Lafayette String Quartet, which is an all-women ensemble that began based in Detroit and moved to Victoria, becoming artists-in-residence at the University of Victoria’s School of Music in 1991.
With the winery performance date already sold out, patrons can still catch Eine Kleine on June 12 or 19 at 2:30 p.m. or July 2 and 3 at 2:30 p.m. at the First Unitarian Church.
