Enderby workshop looks up for 2019

Looking Up a Deva Dialogue Workshop Jan. 26

Looking Up a Deva Dialogue Workshop is coming to Enderby with Shuswap artists Rebecca Shepherd and Roxi Sim-Hermsen.

Sponsored by the Enderby and District Arts Council, the workshop takes place Jan. 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Enderby Drill Hall.

“Limit is 20 participants, so book your place now,” Shepherd and Sim-Hermsen urge. “This workshop requires no previous painting experience so bring your friends.”

Shepherd and Sim-Hermsen are both well known throughout the Shuswap/Okanagan area. A recent collaboration, a large painting titled Deva Dialogue, was uplifting for both and the beginning of something wonderful. Now they wish to share this positive experience with others through Deva Dialogue workshops.

“Looking Up is the perfect workshop for those who wish to start the new year with a positive outlook, by looking forward and leaving the past behind,” they state.

Every artwork will be a unique and original piece that has personal meaning to each artist. Using the technique of symbolic collage, participants will work with their own shadow profile, (which will be, of course, looking up), and explore simple shapes on paper then in paint using uplifting colours, the meanings of the universal shapes will be revealed during the workshop.

Cost for the workshop is $75, with all supplies included. Bring a bagged lunch, coffee, tea and cookies will be supplied by the Enderby and District Arts Council.
