Thursday, Nov. 28 • The third annual Light-Up Downtown event, hosted by the Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce and Chilliwack Business Improvement Association, goes from 5 to 7 p.m. at Salish Park. There will be a lights display, food trucks, snacks, entertainment, the Rotary train and a special guest.
Friday, Nov. 29 • Join Kaleidoscope Crafts and create two Christmas ornaments out of clay at the Chilliwack Library from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Registration required. For ages seven to 18. 604-792-1941.
Friday, Nov. 29 and Saturday, Nov. 30 • Main Beach will come to life during Cultus Lake Christmas. Along with the lighting of the trees in the park, there’s a visit from Santa Claus, a bonfire with marshmallows, hot drinks, an artisan gift market and more. Runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. each day.
Saturday, Nov. 30 • Creative Outlet brings A Nutcracker Ballet to the stage for two performances: 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. Tickets $14: chilliwackculturalcentre.ca, 604-391-7469.
Saturday, Nov. 30 • The Chilliwack Christmas Bazaar featuring a variety of vendors goes from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Chilliwack United Church (45835 Spadina Ave.).
Saturday, Nov. 30 • Promontory Heights elementary school (46200 Stoneview Dr.) is having a festive market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to help raise money for a new playground. A Promontory Christmas Market features more than 50 vendors, pictures with Santa ($5), and a Christmas concession.
Saturday, Nov. 30 • The Ryder Lake Handmade Christmas Craft Fair runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Ryder Lake Hall (49265 Elk View Rd.). There will be 20-plus local vendors and artisans. Free admission.
Saturday, Nov. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 7 • It’s Christmas at Holly McKeen’s pottery studio from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 110-45473 Ariel Pl. Down the stairs to the left of the house you will find the studio entrance. 604-846-6440.
Thursday, Dec. 5 • Paint your own watercolour Christmas card at Season’s Greetings with John Le Flock at the Sardis Library from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. For 18+. Registration is required. 604-858-5503.
